- Make sure your photos are clear and sharp, with a relatively uncluttered background. Please, DO NOT send your original photo.
Instead, send a good photo reprint, not a photocopy or a copy make on a printer. A photographic reprint will provide the best results when the photo
is converted to a chart.
- When deciding on the size and detail of your chart, remember to take into consideration your level of stitching experience and how much work
you want to put into creating the finished design. Stitching should be a pleasure, not a chore!
- Cropping can enhance your design by removing unwanted detail or background. Just indicate on a second copy of your photo how you would like it cropped,
and include it with an unmarked copy with your order.
- Photos should be no smaller than 4" x 5", or larger than 8" x 10". If the photo is too small, the chart will be blurry and lose color definition and detail.
If the photo is over 8" x 10", it causes the scan files to become too large to work with.
- Charts will be larger than the original photo. On average, the smallest chart is around 8" x 10", although I do have charts that are 10" x 7" and the detail and
colour is very nice.
- If you need a specific size or shape of chart, please indicate this on the order form. I will make the chart as close to your specifications as possible, while still creating
a good chart.
- Pricing for charts goes by the square inch. To find the square inch total for your chart, just times the desired width and height of the chart. Then check the order form
to see which square inch section it fits into. For a circular or oval chart, draw a square or rectangle around the circle or oval and times the height and width.
- Photos should be placed between two pieces of stiff cardboard and then mailed in a padded envelope. This will help ensure the photo arrives in good condition.
- Please make cheques or money orders payable to "Wild Card Design Studio".
- Allow 6 to 8 weeks for processing of your chart, especially if ordering by mail from the United States. I have been finding that mail takes an average of two weeks to
arrive from the U.S. and requires at least that amount of time for returning the completed photo conversion chart by mail. As well, please allow up to two weeks for creating the
chart, as I need time to check the chart for errors before printing and on occasion, for stitching a small area to check colour compatability.
- All prices quoted are in U.S. funds. Payment can be made by cheque, money order, or I can invoice you through PayPal.
Although every care will be taken with your photo, Wild Card Design Studio will not be responsible for photos which are lost or damaged in transit. If the photo is damaged,
I will try to reach you in order to obtain a new copy.
